What Happens When You Don’t Go to The Dentist
We all know that person the never visits the dentist. Or, perhaps you are the one who refuses to go. Either way, there are many possible bad outcomes when we do not regularly keep up with our dental health. We face risks that we do not think of on a day to day basis, that people all over the word already are dealing with. It is natural for us as humans to think that these things will never happen to us, but we also know that this is not the truth.
Here are a few risks we face if we do not visit the dentist.
1. Plaque Buildup
While this one is quite obvious, it is no less serious than the others. Plaque coats your teeth and can make its way under your gums. Not only this, but it can damage your tooth enamel and can lead to cavities. If you we go too long without seeing a dentist, we could develop these problems without even realizing it.
2. Tooth Decay
Tooth decay is the breaking down of the enamel on your teeth, from things like plaque build up. Bacteria finds its way into the crevices of our teeth and once again can lead to not only cavities but gum disease as well.
3. Tooth Loss
Tooth loss is just that. If they are not properly cared for, our teeth will inevitably begin to fall out of our mouths completely. Seeing a dentist could stop this because they will provide us with the tools and knowledge that we need to take better care of our teeth!
4. Gum Disease
Last but not least, gum disease. Gum disease is as harsh as it sounds but no worries, by seeing a professional is can be prevented. Gum disease leads to swelling and discomfort in the gums, and of course, may result in tooth loss.
It is so important to visit the dentist on a regular basis because dental problems can also be hereditary. We must make sure that we are taking care of our teeth and getting the help that we need so that we can maintain great dental hygiene.
