If you’ve ever had a toothache, you know how painful it can be. Several different things can cause a toothache.

The Most Common Causes Of A Toothache:

  • Tooth Decay – According to Web MD, tooth decay is the most common cause for a toothache. Tooth decay occurs when the acids in plaque wear away at the enamel and dentin layers of your teeth.

  •  Gum Disease – Gum disease, also known as gingivitis, can make your gums swell. However, it can also make your teeth hurt.

Temporary Pain Relief:

For temporarily relieve the pain of a toothache, clean around the sore
tooth. Rinse your mouth with warm salt water. Under no circumstances
should you use aspirin on the aching tooth. The use of acetaminophen is
recommended.
